Hi, I'm having issues with battery charging and my Windows 7. When booting, the battery is detected in BIOS and charging (charge light is glowing, not blinking). As soon as the computer boots off my HDD and Windows loads, the charge light starts to blink, indicating that the battery is not charging. In Windows, the battery meter displays 'no battery detected' or 'plugged in and not charging'. At first I thought my battery was simply getting old, but out of accident I forgot to plug the AC adapter in and the computer ran off the battery for ~1.5h, even though Windows didn't recognise a battery. This solution of no battery is detected or no battery is present will work with dell laptops,Asus laptops,Acer, sony,Toshiba,Samsung and with some other well-known brands as well. But after a reboot today, I suddently get this 'no battery is detected' message as well:- I have found a solution! Hi Clarence, - What’s the make and model of your laptop? Check your connections. Make sure the plug is tight in the port. You may have a bad connection on the power cord end. It is usually at the plug port that you use to plug in the cord at the laptop.

When it does make contact, your battery charges. Look closely at this point. If jiggling the cord at this point causes it to charge and when you leave it alone it stops, the problem would be the contacts inside the port. If that’s not the case, contact the Laptop manufacturer for further assistance on this issue. Click on the Support Section of the manufacturer’s site for further assistance.
