Hp Advanced Docking Station Drivers
Posted By admin On 04/09/18I tried the steps too and it did not help. However, my IT support guy who has been working with me on this problem for over 3 weeks now mentioned that HP has supposidly issued a recall for the docking stations. A batch of these docks were supposidly shipped with some faulty soldering points on the connector that connects the dock to the Laptop.
HP has shipped a dock from a batch that they know does not have the soldering problem. Software Hp Scanjet 2400. I will have it on Friday, MAy 7th and will update the thread on the outcome. All this after replacing 2 docks and 3 system boards. Had the same issue just recently. One of the reasons I got confused was that this is my first HP laptop and they use a different battery charging regimen to Dell. Dells trickle charge all the time so the charging light flashes whenever it's docked or connected to a charger.
HP only charges when the battery goes below say 90% and then it charges up to capacity and stops - doesn't keep trickle charging. They say it extends battery long term life. The guy I talked to at HP Tech Support ran me through the following procedure and it seems to be working properly now (including the above idiosyncrasy with charging). You need to update the BIOS and recalibrate the battery. Disconnect from dock, flip it over and remove the battery.
Press the ON key and hold for one minute - system will not start. Put the battery back in, connect the charger and turn on. Go to HP.com and to the drivers download page. Download the latest BIOS update (March for me?). During restart hold down F10 - when you get to the BIOS menu OK the install of the new BIOS. During next restart hold down F10 - when you get to the BIOS menu go to the FILE tab. Hit Restore Defaults (Yes), then Save Changes and Exit (Yes).
Once booted up, disconnect the charger or from the dock, then discharge the battery over the next few hours. You'll need to set the power management to custom and turn up the screen brightness etc otherwise you'll be there for hours. Run something really power hungry and CPU intensive to go faster. Iriver Ihp-100 Series Driver there.
(TeaTimer:-) ) 11. Once it shuts off (when it gets to less then a few percent capacity), put it back in the dock or on the charger, then let it come back up. Once its charged again, disconnect from the dock or charger and useĀ 10 - 15% of the battery. See if it starts charging again when you reconnect. Worked for me but I had to find out about the different battery charging criteria before I believed it.
