Hp Lightscribe Dvd Burner Not Working

I have a HP GF343AT SuperMulti LightScribe DVD Burner, that worked fine before my install of Windows 10. Now it does not appear as a drive in the start menu or in task manager.

Lightscribe Drive won't write labels. It does NOT burn Lightscribe labels. I use it everytime I make a backup or any other kind of DVD. So lightscribe can work.

It has disappeared. It is in the Windows 10 compatibility center, showing as compatible. HP does not provide a driver for it. I have an unknown device appearing in my task manager which may be the DVD burner but Windows 10 Update will not find a driver for it.

Mechanically it functions normally, but does not interact with video and sound. Any ideas, anyone? Thanks for listening. Have the same problem with an HP TS H-653T after installing Windows 10 Home over Windows 7, SP1 in an HP Pavilion Slimline S5000 which was working fully just before and during the upgrade. Used the internal DVD R/RW to read MS Win 10 Home. Canon Ir2016j Photocopier Driver on this page. ISO burned on a DVD.

Download Driver Of Printer Hp D1660 Deskjet there. Maybe, accidentally allowed Win 10 to delete unused programs but now cannot find any optical drives at all in the Device Manager. No SATA drivers either. My installed HP DVD player no longer recognizes the drive, although it functions mechanically using the eject button, spins DVDs and blinks the laser. I have a call into HP support and hope that Microsoft will offer a patch or upgrade soon to restore optical drives.

Tried Restore from my last Windows 7 backup but only updated Registry, did not remove Windows 10. Already tried HP Recovery, stored in D:/ on a segmented HDD but cannot find any repair options for DVD. I also tried reinstalling the Lightscribe software but still no optical drive. My last option might be to restore factory defaults and restore Windows 7 from weekly backups. It's not that the drivers aren't available, it's that the drives are recognized at a bios level, but not at the operating system level. I have an alienware machine with a DVD burner and an additional bluray burner. Both drives were working fine, until after the windows 10 upgrade.

In windows 10 the DVD burner is only being seen as a CD drive, and the bluray burner has disappeared completely. If I go to the bios screen, the DVD drive appears as a SATA device on channel 1, and the bluray drive appears as a SATA device on channel 2. But in windows, there is only a CD drive. SOLUTION After installing Windows 10 on my HP p6210t desktop PC, the optical cd/DVD drive disapeared.

With some effort I was able to get an unkown device to show on device manager, but that was all. Solution was simply to go to device manager, uninstall the ATA 0 and ATA 1 channels, uninstall any unrecognized hardware and then simply restart the PC. The optical drive was found and the desktop target (E: drive) was in place again too. Don't waste time like I did.

I have tried this on my set of Dell Latitude E5410, I have 5 of these laptops with the same problem as the CD/DVD drive disappearing, I have done the above on the Monday and gone again on the Wednesday, any ideas. All 5 laptops do it at the same time though they may not be turned on at the same time or day (work in an office), help:-).

I had the same problem. MS was no help. Doing a Google search I found out in vista for optical drives you need to change the jumpers to either Master or Slave. Cable select does not work. I found this out after making 10 coasters. I had the same issue, I just recently purchased a new DVD writer and it came with Nero 6.6 you need to upgrade to version 7.0, I was able to upgrade for $55 I had to upgrade thru my laptop then burn a copy and install it on my Vista desktop.
