Toshiba laptop with Win 10 64 bit. Deskjet F300 series (F380) was working but now has issues. I'm guessing from some update to Win 10, but don't know for sure. Two(2) items show up in Device manager under OTHER DEVICES. Deskjet F300 Series (scan) (yellow error) and HP Deskjet F300 Series(no driver). When I try to update (or install) the driver for each I get.

The Microsoft update actually did show similiar results of not being able to install the drivers for the F380 when it installed some normal updates. So where do I go from here? The HP doctor says that all the software is NOT installed. So I re-install the software/driver package and it seems to install except for step 9 Bing bar something on Win 10. Same results with your suggestions. But I continued on with a few new ideas. First of all, this machine is a Win 10 64 bit HOME version. Don't think I mentioned the home before. Using download A10_CDB_NONNET_FULL_WIN_WW_140_408-4.exe download Couple things, during the device/driver install, the installation process hanges on 5/7 step, lot of time goes by and it finely gives a big Red X with an error note of 'Device setup ha failed to complete' Then I ran the Dr 4.9 and it could not find the printer. Rebooted the system and clicked on 'Add a device shortcut', don't know where that came from.
